Dell Sala is a freelance web developer. He builds Web sites and Web-based applications for a broad range of clients. Originally from Montreal, Quebec, Dell attended art school in Halifax, Nova Scotia and lived in New York for 5 years before settling in Providence, Rhode Island. When not thinking about or writing software, he is enjoying the company of his lovely wife Mackenzie, spunky Italian Greyhound Shorty, and Niko, the newest member of his family born in September ’09.
Dell first developed an interest in programming in the early eighties when his parents brought home an Apple IIe. He found that making geometric patterns with Logo was really fun! After spending several years pursuing an interest in art, Dell rediscovered programming when his work as a graphic designer brought him to Web site design. The LAMP stack running on his Mac proved irresistible, and it wasn’t long before he was writing his own database-powered web applications.
While Dell spends most of his time working with PHP and MySQL, he has a passion for anything related to software engineering and is always looking for better ways to create useful, flexible software. Dell uses this site to document some of his experiences and discoveries.
